Welcome at LCAM-FNWI

The Van Leeuwenhoek Centre for Advanced Microscopy (LCAM) is a collaboration between three innovative microscopy centres at the Academic Medical Centre (AMC), the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam (FNWI) and the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).

LCAM offers visualisation and microscopical analysis of cell organelles, cells and tissues.

Functional Imaging

Do you have experience with (confocal) microscopy and want to learn more about the functional imaging techniques in order to measure concentrations, mobility and interactions of your molecules? In October 2023 the 8-day course Functional Imaging course will be organised that gives you the theoretical background combined with practical experience of techniques like FRET, FRAP, FLIM, FCS and SRM.

This course takes place from October 9th - October 18th in the Sciencepark building from UvA. For more info check out the course website here.

LCAM-FNWI operates directly under the research group Molecular Cytology at the University of Amsterdam. Here you will find a wide range of instrumentation for fluorescence-, confocal-, super-resolution & living cell microscopy combined with equipment for functional imaging.

LCAM is a Euro-BioImaging Flagship Node for Functional Imaging and High Content Microscopy.
